Church Of England Flower Arrangers' Association

Liverpool Cathedral

The Liverpool branch was the founding branch of the Association; thus it has been active since the inauguration of the Association in September 1981. We have almost 70 members from 25 churches in the Liverpool diocese together with some 15 affiliated members from surrounding dioceses of Chester, Manchester, St Asaph and Blackburn which are without branches of their own.

Annual activities include workshops, usually one of flowers and one craft related. A flower demonstration and also, another demonstration at the Branch A.G.M. and a Christmas-themed visit or workshop towards the end of the year. One or more day’s outings give us the opportunity to visit gardens and flower festivals in other areas.

The highlight of our year is an annual flower festival of our own at one of our member churches in the diocese. This we call ‘Sing to the Lord’ and at this event as many members as possible join together to fulfil the ethos of the association. From time to time lunches, a garden party or other activities are arranged.

The branch is privileged to have the responsibility of arranging the flowers at Liverpool Cathedral.
